Title: Hospital Aide Department Org: Radiology-MRI - 109120 Employee Classification: B2 - Classif'd Part Time AFSCME HSC Bargaining Unit: AFSCME HSC Primary Location: HSC H Shift: 2 Start Time: 1:00pm End Time: 9:30pm Posted Salary: $16.81 Float: True Rotate: True On Call: False Travel: False Weekend/Holiday: True Job Description: Under the supervision of the Radiology Manager and/or Lead/Staff Technologist, the Hospital Aide provides support in the clinical activities of the Radiology Department. Will assist in the care and treatment of patients as identified in the unit's Scope of Care, following stages of the life cycle: infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Regularly assists all customers of the Radiology department in a professional manner. Minimum Qualifications: Education / Knowledge / Skills / Abilities 1. High school diploma or GED equivalent is required. 2. Knowledge of correct body mechanics as applied to lifting and transporting patients. 3. Handles and serves patients in a manner conducive to their comfort and safety. 4. Must be able to read, write legibly, and comprehend written and verbal communications. 5. Must be able to complete BLS Heart Saver course within probationary period and maintain certification. 6. Must be highly motivated and consistently demonstrate high standards of responsibility. 7. Must function independently with minimal supervision. 8. Previous experience transporting patients is preferred. 9. Previous experience in a hospital setting is preferred. 10. May be required to work some weekends and holidays. 11. May be required to rotate shifts. Physical requirements: a. visual acuity of 20/20 or corrected to 20/20 including color vision when applicable. b. ability to hear (with or without aides) c. ability to orally communicate d. good manual dexterity e. ability to push, pull, roll, and transfer/lift 50 pounds occasionally f. ability to stand, walk frequently g. ability to bend, reach, stoop, kneel frequently h. Ability to perform CPR Communication Must possess excellent written, verbal and communication skills. Responsibilities

The Hospital Aide provides clinical support in the Radiology department by assisting with patient care and treatment across all age groups. Responsibilities include transporting patients and maintaining a safe, professional environment for all department customers.
