Are you highly experienced with payroll and running the payroll function? Jefferson Healthcare in Port Townsend, WA is looking for an excellent Payroll Administrator to join our accounting team and run the payroll functions of the 1000+ person organization. In this vital role, as the sole payroll administrator you will be responsible for the full, bi-weekly, payroll cycle including timekeeping, processing, reporting, and reconciliations. You will use your eye for detail to analyze payroll reports for accuracy and prepare and file tax reports. You will also leverage your communication talent to communicate clearly with leaders and staff and also train those groups on timekeeping & payroll processes, etc.
Our ideal candidate has solid payroll administrator experience, is familiar with Symplr and Infor systems and is comfortable and experienced in being a payroll function of one. Experience with payroll in a collective bargaining environment will be helpful as is a spirit of customer service - we care for those who are the caregivers!

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • Minimum two (2) years of working in a payroll role in a medium-sized organization with collectivebargaining agreements required.
  • Associate degree or equivalent experience required
  • Experience preparing and filing payroll tax returns required.
  • Experience reconciling payroll required
  • FPC or CPP designation preferred
  • Experience working as sole payroll specialist preferred
  • Infor experience preferred
  • Symplr timekeeping experience preferred
    Schedule: 1.0 FTE, non-exempt

  • Perform a wide variety of record keeping and payroll processing activities efficiently andaccurately; including computation of wage and overtime payments, calculation and recording ofpayroll deductions, processing off-cycle payroll runs, and processing terminations.
  • Perform tasks to establish and maintain employee/payroll records, confirming complete andcorrect information is entered for every employee.
  • Act as the main point of contact for employee payroll questions, delivering professionalcommunication and ensuring quick, accurate resolution of any payroll-related issues
  • Monitor adherence to negotiated employment contracts and collective bargaining agreements.
  • Monitor adherence to HR policies and procedures.
  • Recommend/draft revisions to policies to improve clarity and enforceability.
  • Maintain complete and accurate payroll records, ensuring all transactions are supported by properdocumentation, providing a clear audit trail and meeting compliance requirements.
  • Calculate often complex salary overpayments and retro adjustments.
  • Use professional judgement when assessing and recommending appropriate recovery actions,taking account of individual circumstances, consistent with existing policies.
