Responsibilities

Slade Pharmacy at Epworth Camberwell is offering a unique opportunity for a Hospital Pharmacist to join our collaborative and supportive team in a hybrid role that blends dispensary responsibilities with hands-on clinical experience.
This permanent part-time position (62.8 hours per fortnight, Tuesday to Friday) is ideal for pharmacists looking to gain or expand their hospital experience—particularly those transitioning from community pharmacy or seeking a more diverse scope of practice.
Approximately 90% of your time will be spent in the hospital dispensary at Epworth Camberwell, supporting rehabilitation and mental health inpatients. The remaining 10% involves delivering clinical pharmacy services one day per week at Epworth Hawthorn, where you’ll contribute to patient care through medication reviews, ward rounds, and clinical interventions.
As this role involves travel between two Epworth sites, a valid Australian driver’s licence and access to a reliable, roadworthy vehicle are essential. This off-site component is a valuable opportunity to develop your clinical skills in a supportive environment, and flexibility to travel is a key requirement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Dispensary Operations (Camberwell):
  • Dispense and supply medications to rehabilitation and mental health inpatients
  • Review prescriptions for accuracy, safety, and PBS compliance
  • Provide medication counselling and education to patients and carers
  • Support medication reconciliation during admissions and discharges
  • Collaborate with pharmacy technicians and multidisciplinary teams
  • Maintain high standards of medication safety and inventory control
  • Assist with imprest stock management and ensure continuity of supply
  • Clinical Services (Hawthorn – 1 day/week):
  • Conduct medication reviews and provide clinical interventions
  • Liaise with medical and nursing staff to optimise patient outcomes
  • Participate in ward rounds and contribute to multidisciplinary care planning
  • Document clinical activities and ensure compliance with hospital protocols

This position offers a fantastic balance between operational pharmacy and clinical development, with the added benefit of working across two well-regarded Epworth sites. You’ll be supported by a knowledgeable team and have access to the broader Icon Group network, offering structured training, development pathways, and exposure to specialised services such as mental health and compounding.
