QUALIFICATIONS FOR HOSPITAL SECURITY GUARD

  • Be authorized to work in Canada
  • Saskatchean Security Guard License Certificate
  • First aid certification - {an asset / required}
  • Ability to stand and walk entire shift
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure and respond to emergencies
  • Demonstrated professionalism with strong interpersonal skills; able to build positive relationships and maintain a respectful presence on site
  • Comfortable using technology in the workplace; experience with CCTV systems is an asset
  • Previous experience in a hospital or healthcare setting is considered an asset

Responsibilities
  • Patrol sensitive areas, monitor for suspicious activity, and secure facilities as needed
  • Assist visitors with navigation and provide first aid when required
  • Monitor and support patient safety, including missing/wandering patients
  • Respond to emergencies (Code White, fire alarms, missing persons, aggression, bomb threats)
  • Issue keys, passes, and manage equipment inventory
  • De-escalate and, when necessary, physically intervene in high-stress situations
  • Conduct audits of panic alarms, CCTV systems, and fire extinguishers
  • Assist with patient watch, safe walk/drive programs, and enforce parking regulations
  • Write detailed incident reports while maintaining strict patient confidentiality
  • Support law enforcement during serious or escalating incidents
