Description Memorial Community Health in Aurora, NE is looking for a full-time Unit Secretary/Scheduler to join the Nursing team at Memorial Hospital. This position will be for the day shift and include every third weekend. As a Unit Secretary this position schedules appointments, assists in planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating the activities occurring in the nurses’ station by performing clerical and receptionist duties and maintaining the physical environment of the area. Job Duties: Accurately schedules appointments. Records all admissions, surgeries and treatment rooms on the Census Sheet and assists with the admission/discharge process. Conducts order entry and processes patient-related orders and information in a timely and accurate manner. Performs various support responsibilities for the unit. Maintains department supply process. Performs and maintains documentation. Follows HIPAA regulations and ensures that the confidentiality of patients’ medical, personal, financial records, employee records, and organizational records is maintained. Complies, understands, and enforces state and federal regulatory requirements related to the performance of Memorial Community Health operations and requirements, including but not limited to HIPAA, the Code of Conduct, the Compliance Policy, Safety and Infection Control, all department and organization-wide policies, Critical Access Hospital requirements, and Federal and State of Nebraska regulations. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements High School diploma or equivalent One (1) year of general office experience preferred Prior healthcare experience preferred Heart Saver CPR AED Knowledge of medical terminology preferred Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of people, such as families, residents, co-workers and health care providers. Knowledge of Microsoft Office products
