This role plays a vital part in delivering exceptional guest experiences by combining wine service with elevated hospitality. Responsibilities include providing personalized wine education, showcasing our vineyards and winemaking processes, and supporting sales, while also warmly welcoming guests, assisting with on-site events and new experiences, helping with event setup and breakdown, and ensuring a seamless experience for those visiting or staying on the property.   This position requires a dynamic individual who thrives in team settings, demonstrates a genuine passion for wine and hospitality, and creates memorable moments for every guest. From greeting visitors to preparing spaces for events and engaging with guests throughout their visit, this role is key to bringing our brand to life. A strong sense of team spirit is essential, as collaboration enhances the overall guest experience. As a representative of our brand, the Hospitality Associate combines professionalism with a warm, approachable demeanor to create a welcoming and memorable environment.   ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/THE DAY-TO-DAY Customer Service Expertise * Anticipate guest needs and deliver elevated, personalized hospitality to every guest. * Build authentic, lasting connections with guests to enhance loyalty and ensure memorable visits. * Approach each interaction with a positive, enthusiastic attitude and a commitment to guest satisfaction. * Collaborate closely with the hospitality team to ensure a seamless and high-quality guest journey from arrival to departure. * Stay informed and articulate about current wine offerings, seasonal promotions, and upcoming events. * Maintain a professional appearance in alignment with brand standards and the guest experience we strive to offer. Wine Knowledge & Education * Foster a passion for wine and commit to deepening your understanding of Harper’s Rest wines, vineyards, and winemaking philosophy. * Actively participate in internal training and wine education opportunities to stay informed and inspired. * Share wine knowledge with confidence and enthusiasm, providing guests with a rich and educational tasting experience. Operational Proficiency * Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system with accuracy and efficiency, handling sales, shipments, and customer account management. * Demonstrate problem-solving skills, openness to feedback, and a commitment to continuous improvement. * Take initiative with daily operational tasks, including opening/closing procedures, restocking, table clearing, and maintaining overall cleanliness. * Thrive in a fast-paced team environment, working collaboratively to support the evolving needs of the business. Sales Excellence * Lead engaging and informative wine tastings that bring the story of each wine to life, including vineyard practices and winemaking techniques. * Assist guests in selecting wines and completing purchases, ensuring their preferences and needs are thoughtfully considered. * Take ownership of individual performance metrics, including wine sales, allocation sign-ups, and guest data collection. * Proactively promote allocation memberships, special events, and curated guest experiences. *This is not intended to be a comprehensive list of the duties and responsibilities of the position, and the duties and responsibilities may change without notice.   AM I THE RIGHT FIT?  Not everyone can be a Hospitality Associate. To be seriously considered for the role, here is what you’ll bring:   Education/Licenses/Certifications: * Required * Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience * Must be at least 21 years old due to the handling and/or tasting of alcoholic beverages as part of the job responsibilities, in compliance with state and federal alcohol regulations. Experience: * 2+ years in related position or in hospitality, wine service, or a guest-facing environment Skills/Traits: * Exceptional communication/interpersonal skills. * Strong organizational and time management skills. * Solution-oriented. * Excellent customer service skills. * Passion for wine, the wine industry, and guest experience. * Knowledge of wine pairings, wine regions, and winemaking processes is a plus. * Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed. Physical Demands: * Lifting and carrying: this role may require lifting up to 50lbs * Ability to work evenings and weekends to support events and ability to work non-traditional hours * Standing and walking: this could include standing for long periods or walking for extended periods throughout the day.
