THE CONCEPT

Garcia’s Chicago, a stunning, 300-capacity seated concert venue inspired by landmark jazz clubs, opened in early 2025, offering an elevated music and dining experience in the heart of Chicago’s West Loop, the city’s premier dining district. Garcia’s Chicago will prioritize exceptional musical curation, artful interior design, and state-of-the-art acoustics. The food and beverage program promises to be among the finest of any concert venue in the country.
This exciting new venture is the latest from Peter Shapiro and Dayglo Presents (Brooklyn Bowl, The Capitol Theatre, Bearsville Theater) in partnership with the Jerry Garcia Estate. This venue will celebrate Jerry Garcia’s eclectic artistry and heritage, drawing from his Spanish roots, his Northern Californian upbringing, and his deep connection to Jazz, Americana, and World music. Garcia’s Chicago will be a welcoming space for music lovers and artists of all kinds and an innovative experience in live concert venues.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Artist Hospitality Coordinator is responsible for providing a smooth and enjoyable experience for artists and touring crew members. They will keep the green room clean and inviting, fulfill approved rider requests, and serve touring personnel and their guests. This role acts as a link between management and artists, requiring strong communication, professionalism, and discretion.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in live events, service industry, or hospitality
  • Ability to interact with the public and coworkers in a friendly, enthusiastic, and outgoing manner
  • Valid work cards required (BASSET & Food Handler)
  • Ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and policy documents, as well as converse comfortably with customers in English
  • Previous experience working in a high-volume, fast-paced, live entertainment venue preferred
  • Ability to quickly learn daily tasks and responsibilities
  • Take initiative in creating a positive experience for our artists and touring crews
  • Adaptable and able to think on your feet to adjust to last-minute changes
  • Able to remain calm in stressful situations and sometimes chaotic environments, with loud music and crowds for extended periods of time
  • Maintain a high level of discretion when interacting with talent, including but not limited to respecting artists’ privacy, not asking artists for photos or autographs, and not sharing private information with anyone outside of authorized personnel
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
  • Ability to stand, walk or sit and continuously perform essential job functions for duration of shift
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and walk significant distances
  • Ability to move throughout the venue during the entire shift
  • Ability to verbally communicate via two-way radio usage
  • Compensation
    $23/hr.

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain the upkeep of the green room for artist use
  • Set up green room with general stock offerings and rider items as applicable
  • Greet touring parties as they arrive and give them a tour of the premises
  • Distribute artist credentials and parking passes
  • Inform MOD & Security of credentials in use by each tour
  • Communicate any allergies to Chef
  • Facilitate the ordering & running of meals & drinks for artists & crew
  • Serve artist guests in Booths 1 & 2
  • Assist with coordinating artist guestlist and merchandise
  • Assist with other functions as delegated by the Production Manager or Ops MOD
