About the role The Hospitality Supervisor is responsible for deliverables related to hospitality and housekeeping guest services. This includes management of servers and housekeeping. The Hospitality Supervisor will report directly to the Food & Beverage Manager What you'll do Ensure the timely delivery of guest food and beverage needs at Surf Ranch Track any dietary requirements of guests Communicate with culinary team to ensure accuracy of guest food service meals, timing, and guest counts Review and execute Hospitality Run of Show working directly with guests and involved department staff. Maintain cleanliness and defined aesthetic of Surf Ranch guest areas. Involvement in guest service during guest meals, arrival, departures, including planning ahead of arrival. Ensure all back of house service areas are clean, free of clutter, and organized. Oversight and training of housekeeping staff duties ensuring quality Oversight and training of hospitality staff duties and ensuring quality. Respond and report guest service related issues in a timely and effective manner. Communicate accurately and in a timely manner, matters which pertain to the delivery of hospitality and guest service status/readiness to the Director of Hospitality. Support requests of all operating groups/departments within Surf Ranch in a timely and professional manner. Adhere, enforce and create as needed all Standard Operating Procedures within the hospitality department Assist in the development and implementation of processes which enhance system efficiencies and increase productivity and service. Maintain proficiency in all areas as it pertains to his/her area(s) of responsibilities. Ensure inventory is completed accurately and maintained without avoidable or costly shortages Monitoring and submitting Hospitality orders and requisitions as requested. Participate as needed in scheduling shifts, coverage, breaks, rest periods for hospitality service staff per budgeted staffing levels and california labor laws. Coordinate and plan meal breaks for all staff following California labor law guidelines. Ensure that staff report to work and take meal rest breaks as scheduled and report any late or absent employees. Monitor employee uniforms are in line with guidelines Maintain complete knowledge of menu items, preparation and service requirements. Maintain constant communication with the Hospitality Director and management team. Checking to make sure that proper equipment, supplies and necessary working stock is available to staff. Before each service hold a pre-shift meeting with the hospitality service team, informing them of events for the day and latest developments and any other information that may affect them. Assign opening duties, teams, stations, side work, and closing duties. Communication with culinary in regards to timing and needs of food service during scheduled shifts. Maintain complete knowledge of and strictly abide by state liquor regulations, particularly those prohibiting service to minors, intoxicated persons and drunk driving. Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment; use equipment only as intended. Determine and track guests preferences for duration of visit and any future visits Anticipate guests' needs, respond promptly with the request or answer before a guest repeats the original request. Maintain positive guest and interdepartmental relations at all times. Be familiar with all Surf Ranch services / features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately. Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of guest and service areas. Assign, train and supervise opening & closing duties and assignments. Must work cohesively with all associates as part of a team. Prepare any written reports such as end of shift communication or follow ups as needed. Protect and guard against abuse or loss of company property. Keep Management informed of any accidents or problems involving guests or employees. Any other task written or verbal, that is assigned by the Director of Hospitality, General Manager or other department people leaders. Qualifications Previous experience in a resort or hospitality setting leading teams in the areas of guest service/food & beverage. Demonstrate ability to work with all levels of employees and management Willingness to give assistance to co-workers Ability to communicate in verbal and written English with guests, management, and co-workers Prioritize and organize work assignments, have timely follow up and execution. Superb time management skills Maintain complete knowledge of all services/features and hours of operation. Other language, mathematical, and reasoning abilities as outlined below. Ability to comply with physical demands as outlined below. Knowledge and understanding of Surf Ranch and WSL culture & initiatives Technologically sound with Microsoft Office and Google applications. Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations. Must be able to maintain a flexible work schedule. Food Handler card required per CA law. Working Conditions / Physical requirements (if applicable) The employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping and crouching.
