Position Summary The Host at Nubeluz plays an integral role in ensuring our guests have an exceptional dining experience. Through consistency, efficiency, and passion for the Hospitality Industry, we curate a personalized experience for each guest by following our Core Values - create a memorable service for each other and guests alike. Smile, make eye contact, have good posture and a welcoming presence at the door. Collect, organize, update and manage menus. Stock host stand with appropriate supplies. Utilize Open Table and other tools to maximize restaurant’s seating and service guests. Greet and thank each guest entering or leaving the restaurant. Seat guests at a suitable table or in waiting areas and remove extra place settings. Manage the wait list and proactively communicate accurate seating times. Provide guests with menus and inform guests of specialties and features. Inspect dining and serving areas to ensure cleanliness and proper setup. Requirements Skills & Conditions 1 year full-service, high-volume restaurant experience in a host position. Open availability a must: minimum of 3 days per week, including weekends and holidays, with flexibility. Passion for hospitality, guest engagement, and serving others. Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis. May be required to lift trays of food or food items weighing up to 30 lbs. occasionally. Previous experience with restaurant point-of-sales (POS) systems. Strong understanding of communication skills to build trusting relationships with colleagues and guests. Ability to take direction and work in a team environment and to work calmly and effectively under pressure. A yearning to grow and learn. Have a strong work ethic while leading by example. A basic understanding of classic cookery, wine, beer, and cocktails. This position will spend 100% of the time standing or walking. Proficiency with Resy/Open Table preferred. Excellent at guest relations and conflict resolution. Professional, business casual attire required. Culinary and/or Beverage Degree/Certification, a plus. Hospitality Degree/Certification, a plus.
