We are looking for full- and part-time Hosts & Hostesses, Food Runners, and Banquet Staff to join our fun team of food lovers.
We are located in the Hudson Bay Lodge in Smithers - BRIXX Brewhouse and Noir Kitchen + Bar.

Responsibilities

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work collaboratively with the management team to create and execute memorable experiences for guests.
  • Greet guests and enthusiastically represent our brand, providing service that goes above and beyond the expectations of our guests.
  • Continually seek information about menus, industry trends, and events across the property and community.
  • Maintain a neat, organized, and welcoming front-of-house environment.
  • Work with the management team to ensure that all reasonable guest requests are fulfilled.
  • Work with the management team to maximize seating, with the goal of accommodating every request for a table.
  • Create a positive and welcoming experience for all guests.
  • Answer phones and schedule reservations according to our reservation policy.
  • Organize seating, dependent on factors of weather, number of staff, reservations, events, etc.
  • Control seating and initiate a wait list to ensure an even and steady workflow for the culinary team.
  • Rotate seating between server sections (when applicable) to ensure even workloads for all.
  • Periodically walk through the restaurant to determine the flow of service and collaborate with Bartenders and Servers to ensure tables are ready for the next set of guests.
  • Listen, take feedback, respond quickly, and take initiative with a sense of urgency.
  • Assist with team tasks/side duties as needed to ensure proper service.
  • Ensure that levels of all needed supplies are stocked adequately. This includes to-go boxes, napkins, cutlery, glassware, etc.
  • Transfer beverages from ‘service bar’ to the restaurant using service tray (for 19+ hosts only).
  • Alert the assigned server if a guest has made a request.
  • Report any unsatisfied guest to a manager.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE FOR ALL GUEST SERVICE ROLES IS:

  • Experienced in providing excellent customer service, ideally in a restaurant, winery, or retail environment.
  • Experienced in cash handling.
  • Dedicated to providing personalized and professional service to all guests.
  • Able to withstand extended periods of standing, and other physically demanding conditions.
  • Able to operate in high pressure environment and remain calm and focused in urgent situations.
  • Able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as well as overtime from time to time.
  • Able to manage time efficiently.
  • Able to pay strong attention to detail.
  • Able to maintain a professional appearance and demeanor, aligning with dress code guidelines.
  • Able to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Holds or is willing to work towards a Serving it Right certification.
  • Holds or is willing to work towards holding a First Aid, Level 1 certification.
