JOB SUMMARY:

We are looking for a friendly, organized, and welcoming Host/Hostess to be the first point of contact for guests at our casual and lively pub-style restaurant known for great food, drinks, and service. As a host, you’ll create a positive first impression, manage the flow of guests, and help ensure a smooth and enjoyable dining experience from the moment people walk through the door.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous hosting or customer service experience preferred, but not required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Positive attitude and strong sense of hospitality.
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable working with reservation systems or seating software (training provided).
  • Reliable, punctual, and professional appearance.
  • Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Able to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Able to lift up to 20 lbs occasionally.
  • Able to move quickly between tasks and areas of the restaurant.

Responsibilities
  • Greet guests warmly and with a smile as they arrive.
  • Manage waitlists and reservations using a seating chart or reservation system.
  • Assign guests to tables in a fair and efficient manner, balancing server sections.
  • Provide accurate wait time estimates and communicate updates clearly.
  • Answer phone calls and provide basic information about the restaurant, menu, and hours.
  • Monitor dining room, bar, and patio areas to anticipate table availability.
  • Assist with menus, high chairs, and any guest needs upon arrival.
  • Help maintain cleanliness and organization in the host stand, lobby, and entry area.
  • Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return.
  • Support the team with other front-of-house tasks as needed.
