HOST/ HOSTESS
The Ice Plant is hiring for Host/ Hostess
Position Overview: As a host or hostess with the ice plant, you will be the first and the last person that our guests come in contact with. Your position is one of high visibility and carries a high level of responsibility. Therefore, your behavior should be that of smiles and genuine hospitality at all times. One of the most important functions you will be responsible for is the cultivation of new and regular guests by being an individual with a high level of “woo;” that is, the desire to “win others over.” Our guests made a conscious choice to dine with us, so it is our commitment to make our guests feel appreciated and to achieve our goal of: 100% guest satisfaction
Since your position is at the front door, you will come in contact with people you have never seen before. On the other hand, you will also come in contact with people you see frequently. By learning, remembering and using their names, you will give our guests that extra touch that will make them feel appreciated and recognized. By getting to know your guests, we can increase future business. Make every guest feel like we are sincerely glad they joined us. As a host/hostess for the ice plant, you are our public relations representative, the communication center and traffic coordinator.
You will be expected to communicate with our guests in a friendly and sincere manner both in person and over the phone. It is essential that you understand the impact you have on our guests, the dining experience and our operation. You must assume a leadership role, set an example and develop a level of communication and teamwork, so that our guests are greeted and seated in a friendly and efficient manner. When our guests are being seated, be personal, as well as personable. If you are seating one of our regular guests, be sure to use their name. This will make them feel at home. When our guests are leaving the restaurant, every guest must be thanked, sincerely, for joining us. We do not use the word “good – bye.’ The word good-bye is saying farewell, whereas, “thank you” is an expression of gratitude and appreciation.
Scope of Duties: You must be on time and in full-specified uniform. Maintain a positive, professional approach and project an attitude of enthusiasm and energy at all times.
Responsibilities: As a Host/Hostess you are responsible for making sure that your station is set correctly and ready for the start of the shift. Opening, running and closing side work has been completed according to specifications. You must have knowledge of the food and beverage offerings of the restaurant, hours, special events and policies. You are also responsible for helping team members at any time possible.
