QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and react quickly to changing circumstances or events that may arise during the shift.
  • Ability to work well with or without direct supervision. Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written form with other employees or customers. Ability to work under pressure while maintaining accuracy and completeness of work product in a timely manner. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously with a high degree of accuracy while maintaining a positive attitude at all times. Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time (10+ hours per day). Ability to lift 50 pounds (25 pounds recommended). Ability to stand or walk more than 8 hours per day for extended periods of time (up to 12+ hours per day). Ability to perform essential functions of the job consistently with acceptable quality standards and procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Welcome guests upon their arrival.
  • Greet and acknowledge guests as they enter the dining room.
  • Assist guests with table settings.
  • Assist guests with table settings and meal preparation.
  • Check guests in and seat them at tables.
  • Check tableware and take out of tables during breaks.
  • Answer questions from guests about menu offerings.
  • Answer questions from guests about ingredients, cooking methods, and equipment used in preparation and in cooking.
  • Answer questions from guests about special menu items, wine, beer, and cocktails.
  • Answer questions from guests about menu items, wine, beer, and cocktails for each course on the menu.
  • Answer questions from guests about special menu items for each course on the menu and recommendations for nearby restaurants that might provide similar dishes.
  • Clean dining room areas after meals are served.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor.
