Also appointed by Gourmet Traveller as the Victorian Restaurant of the Year 2025 Job Description As the first and last point of contact for our guests, the Host plays a pivotal role in shaping the dining experience. You’ll be responsible for creating a warm, professional, and memorable welcome, ensuring guests are seated comfortably, and managing the flow of service through effective reservations and seating coordination. Key Responsibilities Warmly welcome and farewell all guests with genuine hospitality Maintain a well-organised and efficient host station, ensuring smooth communication with the service team. Anticipate guest needs and respond promptly to inquiries or special requests. Keep an up-to-date knowledge of menus, daily specials, and promotions to answer guest queries confidently. Assist with administrative duties such as confirming bookings and noting guest preferences. Qualifications About You: Two years previous experience as a host/hostess in a luxury or lifestyle establishment Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a warm and approachable manner Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask under pressure. Confident in using reservation and POS systems (training provided if required) Ability to remain calm, professional, and engaging in a fast-paced environment. Flexible availability to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
