The Mill Wharf Restaurant (est.1984) is a long-standing New England dining destination known for its panoramic waterfront views, classic American and seafood dishes, and its setting on the historic site of the town’s original mill. For four decades it has been a favorite for both locals and visitors looking to enjoy scenic dining and relaxed coastal atmosphere. RESPONSIBILITIES: Greeting guests warmly and creating positive first impression. Manage reservations and the waitlist during high-volume periods. Coordinate seating and maintain smooth table turnover. Introduce guests to their server for a seamless transition. Engage in friendly conversation while seating guests promptly Clear, clean, and reset tables quickly for the next guest. Take takeout orders and have ability to use POS system efficiently Ability to work both upstairs in the dining room and the Pub Thank guests sincerely upon departure and invite them to return. Collaborate with the front-of-house team to ensure smooth operations. Adhere to company policies and hospitality standards. REQUIREMENTS: Previous experience in hospitality or customer service preferred. Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment. Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities. Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset. Basic knowledge of reservation systems (OpenTable experience is a plus). Ability to stand for extended periods and move quickly between tasks. Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Professional appearance and demeanor.
