QUALIFICATIONS AND TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE

  • Two (2) years of Food and Beverage experience in a similar restaurant setting required
  • “Serving it Right” Certificate must be obtained; Knowledge of Open Table, Micros/Point of Sales system is an asset
  • Good command of the English language; Second language an asset.
Responsibilities

THE KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE GREETER INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Maintains professional internal/external guest service: smiles, creates eye contact, and uses employee/guest names
  • Answers telephone and takes reservations using OpenTable.
  • Confirms reservations
  • Draws up floor plans
  • Completes minor to go orders
  • Greets and seats guests; Assigns server stations and duties
  • Be fully versed and apprised of the menus
  • Relays information to the Server or Manager; Performs administration duties of restaurant supervision
  • Attends to guest complaints; Assists Manager on Duty, Servers, and Expeditors where necessary
  • Ensures all duties on the task list are completed; To ensure the buffet is set up correctly
  • Ability to upsell hotel food & beverage items to guests
  • Ensures attentiveness to each table at all times
  • Knows the products & services their hotel offers so that they can respond to guests/customers’ enquiries and promote the product and services
  • Trains new staff in proper procedures
  • Understands the need and willingness to work in other related outlets during peak periods when required (ie, Coal Harbour Bar, Room Service, and/or Banquets)
  • Performs other related duties as required
