Description The Host Person is responsible for providing a warm and welcoming first impression for every guest. This role manages reservations, seating flow, and guest communication while supporting service staff to ensure an exceptional dining experience. The Hostess must maintain a friendly, professional demeanor and operate efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Greet guests promptly with a friendly, professional, and welcoming attitude. Manage reservations, waitlists, and seating assignments to ensure smooth restaurant flow. Escort guests to tables and provide menus as needed. Communicate accurate wait times and provide updates to guests in a courteous manner. Coordinate with servers, bartenders, and kitchen staff to ensure efficient seating and service timing. Answer incoming phone calls, provide restaurant information, and assist with reservations or inquiries. Utilize online reservation tools to accept and modify guest reservations. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand, waiting area, and entryway. Monitor dining room activity and assist in managing guest satisfaction and service quality. Assist with special guest requests, celebrations, and accommodations as appropriate. Support service staff during busy times by assisting with light tasks such as resetting tables, stocking menus, or maintaining guest areas. Assist in the cleanliness of the restaurant, lounge, and restrooms as necessary to ensure a great guest experience. Report any maintenance issues or damaged equipment. Maintain professionalism with coworkers and guests.? Other duties may be assigned by management Requirements Job Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous customer service or restaurant experience is a plus but not required. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a guest-first mindset. Professional appearance and positive attitude. Ability to multitask, stay organized, and manage guest expectations. Comfort using reservation and seating systems (e.g., OpenTable or similar). Ability and willingness to work a varied and flexible schedule including weekends, days, nights, and holidays. Physical Requirements: Must tolerate prolonged periods of standing, walking; occasional kneeling, bending, and stooping. Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds as needed to carry trays of food. Ability to bend, reach, and move quickly in a high-traffic environment. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain composed under pressure. Must tolerate exposure to cleaning solutions.
