Job Summary Reporting to the Front of House Manager, the Associate will provide an exceptional experience to all guests of the Winery. This frontline role involves greeting, seating, and taking reservations for dining guests in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner, as well as actively supporting the retail operations by providing customer service and maintaining the merchandise area. Roles and Responsibilities Under the supervision of the Manager on Duty, duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: * Front of House/Hosting: * Build professional relationships with guests and create an air of familiarity. * Greet and seat guests at the bar, patio, or dining areas. * Take reservations and communicate any relevant information to other staff. * Clean tables upon guest departure. * Process bills and payments when required. * Take initiative in becoming knowledgeable in food and beverages being served. * Retail/Merchandise: * Provide excellent customer service to all guests of the Stirling Sands merchandise area. * Welcome guests to the store by actively seeking them out and asking open-ended questions to determine their needs. * Demonstrate knowledge of all products under the Cowbell and Stirling Sands brands by describing benefits and features of products. * Maintain stock levels and visual presentation of merchandise. * Process purchases, returns, and exchanges. * Manage cash flow, additional payment methods, and inventory count when Opening and Closing the winery store. * Stock beer fridge and put away orders. * Other duties as assigned. Qualifications and Requirements * Smart Serve Certification or ability to acquire Smart Serve Certification before commencing employment. * Experience as a restaurant host/hostess is preferred. * Previous experience working in a customer service environment. * Excellent oral and written communication skills with a strong customer service disposition, and the ability to communicate effectively in the English language. * Ability to work well under pressure with strong multitasking skills, maintaining a sense or urgency and momentum. * Ability to work well as a team and support team members when required. * Ability to build rapport with guests by creating an informative and pleasant guest experience. * A strong attention to detail. * Strong organizational and time management skills. * Demonstrated experience working with computers and/or tablets and demonstrated experience handling cash. * Experience working with a POS system (preferred). * Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Working Conditions * Position may require long periods of standing and walking. * Required to work in a busy, open area which may result in constant interruptions. * Required to spend long hours concentrating which will require attention to detail and high levels of accuracy. * Heavy lifting is required for putting some large orders away and retrieving stock. * Potential to work outside of normal business hours.
