JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a friendly and professional Host to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for our guests, ensuring a warm welcome and a positive dining experience. This role requires excellent communication skills and a passion for providing exceptional guest services in a fast-paced environment.

EXPERIENCE

• Previous experience in guest services within a hotel or restaurant environment is essential.
• Knowledge of how a restaurant booking system works to optimise customer flow and is essential to the overall success of a hospitality operation is key. Understanding of ResDiary would be desirable but not essential.
• Strong communication skills, with an emphasis on phone etiquette and interpersonal interactions.
• A genuine passion for hospitality and helping others is crucial for success in this role.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure while managing multiple tasks effectively.

• Greet guests upon arrival with a warm and friendly demeanour.
• Manage reservations and seating arrangements efficiently to optimise guest flow within a well established system of parameters, using ResDiary.
• Assist guests with inquiries, providing information about the menu, specials, and restaurant services.
• Communicate effectively with kitchen and service staff to ensure smooth operations.
• Handle phone calls with professionalism, taking reservations and answering guest queries as needed.
• Support the overall hospitality experience by helping other team members as required.
• This position will be based at Salt Uppermill and will cover the restaurant’s operations as well as our sister site ‘The Waggon Inn’s’ operations, dealing with large party bookings, pre-orders and deposits, enquiries for private dining experiences and small function opportunities.
