Description

The Yard Hostler shuttles equipment within the Distribution Center premises as needed. Working with another hostler, coordinate moves based on priorities directed by dispatch, shipping and receiving supervisors. Maintains a neat and orderly yard, anticipates trailer needs based on specific shifts. Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to: * Safely operate yard tractor in professional manner * Handle fast paced work environment * Ability to drive in snowy or slippery conditions, as needed. * Work in areas requiring exposure to varying temperatures, extreme heat or cold, and/or wet, damp, or drafty conditions. * Work varying hours of the day as required. (Days, nights, weekends, and holidays) * Fuel yard tractor and refrigerated trailers. * Knowledge of refrigerated trailer operations. * Record, report, and maintain trailer temperatures. * Maintain working trailer inventory, anticipate shift needs. * Work closely with dispatch, shipping, receiving, clean out building and security to ensure all trailer needs are met. * Be able to prioritize trailer requests. * Have a strong commitment to safety. Requirements: * Must be 18 years of age. * Must have a valid driver’s license. * Must successfully complete Albertsons pre-employment background and drug screening. * Over the road driving experience, a plus.
