  • Valid Food Safe I certification.
  • At least 1-year recent related experience in a fast-paced institutional food services environment.
  • Basic food preparation and serving skills.
  • Able to speak, read and write clearly in English.
  • Good arithmetic skills.
  • Able to use Microsoft Outlook (email).
  • Must have a valid BC Driver’s License and access to a vehicle

Responsibilities
  • Ordering, receiving and storing food and supplies required for Breakfast, Lunch and Snack, respecting students’ food allergies and other restrictions to ensure their safety.
  • Working successfully as a member of a team and independently, depending on the task.
  • Following established procedures to ensure food safety and economy.
  • Maintaining basic records using established forms.
  • Monitoring food quality, quantity, temperature and food safety
  • Lifting and carrying food containers, reaching, bending and twisting to pack meals for distribution, load the dishwasher, etc.
  • Identifying food safety issues that might jeopardize student safety
  • Obtaining clarification about students’ food restrictions to ensure student safety.
  • Maintaining positive relationships with students, parents and staff.

Job Requirements:
