Description Pay Scale: $17 - $21/hour Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, 401k, sick time and PTO after 90 days! Shift: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM Summary: Responsible for hot-pressing and cold-pressing veneer and laminate panels Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Operate both the hot press and cold press in an efficient and cost effective manner - being particularly attentive to loading and handling safety while operating the press Strive towards methods that make the press more efficient Both lead and not lead work together to complement each other Continually monitor veneer face quality, core quality, and exacting placement of veneer on core, glue spread, and evidence of loose veneer on all panels In conjunction with Shipping and Receiving, accurately correlate orders with actual panels to ensure correct shipments Prepare finished panels for shipment or delivery- including neatly stacking on skids, setting aside for customer pick-up, or stacking on shop trucks for further processing Set-up glue spreader and completely clean at end of shift Ensure that all components match work orders Ensure that completed orders have correct quantities. Run Jobs to ensure the part or consistent and correct. Maintain a safe and clean work area. Fill-in as needed or directed in other departments Locate and look ahead at next jobs to maintain good flow for press Assist Shipping & Receiving in staging materials and labeling skids Ensure that skids are neatly stacked with top panels turned over Operate/Drive a Hi-Lo Requirements Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Responsibilities
The Hot Press Operator is responsible for efficiently operating hot and cold presses to produce veneer and laminate panels. This includes monitoring quality, preparing panels for shipment, and maintaining a safe work environment.
