Description

The Hotel Accountant at McKibbon Hotel Group plays a key role within our Corporate Office in Gainesville, GA. Reporting to the Senior Accountant, this role is primarily responsible for managing and maintaining the financial reporting for managed hotels—all while upholding McKibbon’s core values and Guiding Principles.

A Day in the Life:

  • Manage monthly accounting functions for multiple entities
  • Communicate effectively with hotel management teams
  • Perform daily bank reconciliations
  • Review expense accounts to ensure accurate coding
  • Post recurring monthly journal entries
  • Compile and distribute monthly reports to ownership groups as needed
  • Review daily revenue entries and payroll journal entries
  • Conduct analytical reviews of the income statement and balance sheet
  • Reconcile asset and liability accounts on a monthly basis
  • Prepare and file sales, use, and occupancy tax returns
  • Assist with special projects and financial initiatives as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience)
  • Recent college graduate to 2 years of accounting experience ideal for this entry level accounting position
  • Proven ability to manage month-end close for multiple entities
  • Hospitality industry experience is a plus
  • Experience with M3 and Accounting Core a plus
  • Strong customer service mindset within a professional service environment
  • Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks, Peachtree, SAP, Great Plains, etc.)
