We are seeking a Duty Manager - Assistant Manager to oversee daily hotel operations, ensuring seamless service delivery across all departments while maintaining the highest standards of guest satisfaction, safety, and efficiency. Job Description Reporting to the Front Office Manager, the Duty Manager acts as the Manager on Duty and is responsible for coordinating hotel operations in the absence of senior management. The role requires operational oversight of Front Office, Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, Maintenance, and Security, ensuring smooth communication between departments and consistent adherence to brand and legal standards. Manage and supervise front-of-house operations including guest arrivals, departures, and lobby services. Oversee and coordinate the day-to-day functions of Front Office, Housekeeping, and Food & Beverage teams to ensure operational efficiency and exceptional guest experiences. Respond promptly to guest enquiries and complaints, ensuring service recovery and satisfaction. Monitor room allocations, reservations accuracy, and revenue optimisation in coordination with the Reservations and Revenue teams. Support the Night Audit process and maintain accurate financial reporting. Ensure hotel policies, procedures, and service standards are upheld in accordance with brand and legislative requirements. Qualifications Minimum 3 years of experience in a hotel supervisory or management role within a 4- or 5-star property. Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail. Knowledge of hotel operations systems such as Opera Cloud or similar will be advantageous. Has Managers certificate or is eligible to obtain one. Flexibility to work a 7-day rotating roster including weekends, evenings, and public holidays. Wage $31.95 per hour Additional Information Why work for Novotel, Queenstown?
