This is a beautiful and unique John Lewis Partnership-owned hotel, set on 130 acres by the River Thames in Cookham, Berkshire. It offers both character and charm to our guests.
The guests can stay in one of 5 beautiful houses on the site, or one of Airbnb’s each maintaining the period look of its time with access to the picturesque grounds including a private stretch of river, water gardens, a pool, and sports facilities. The main house, Lullebrook Manor and its grounds are thought to have been the inspiration for the classic novel The Wind in The Willows bringing history along with relaxation.
Relaxation can be further achieved with a visit to our Wellbeing suite, offering beauty treatments and massages or afternoon tea on the terrace, a drink in the bar or a meal overlooking the river.

Desirable skills you could bring:-

• Experience working in Hotel/Hospitality and or working in a swimming pool or leisure centre Environment.
• Experience in Food and Beverage

ABOUT THE ROLE

At a glance:
Working pattern - Varied hours of part time work across 3-4 days between the hours of 10:00 - 18:00, alternate weekend working

THIS ROLE IS BASED AT ODNEY, COOKHAM

Pay Rate - £12.40 per hour.
Contract type - This is a temporary role until October 2025
Due to working time regulations, applicants must be 18 years or over to apply.

ABOUT THE ROLE

To work as part of the hotel team to deliver and maintain a first-rate guest experience through the focus on the delivery of market leading customer service. To add value to the efficient and profitable running of your hotel in order to achieve your business and personal objectives, along with those of your team and the hotel.
Through your Profession, you will have the opportunity to develop and stretch personally and professionally to achieve your potential. We have several different ways to work flexibly, including part-time, flexible or compressed hours, and job sharing. Head office areas also support a blended working approach.

FRONT OF HOUSE DUTIES

• Interacting with guests, sharing product knowledge on drinks and food.
• Resolving guest/Complaints at the first point of contact
• Taking orders, checking back, and assisting with queries.
• Liaising with the kitchen team to fully understand the menu.
• Development and knowledge of food and wine, upselling and recommending where appropriate.
• Clearing down and setting tables.
• Working behind the bar, serving drinks and taking orders for food

SWIMMING POOL DUTIES

• Run the day to day operation of the pool including, pool house, shop and changing rooms.
• Ensuring Pool safety procedures are adhered to at all times
• Maintain pool equipment and pool amenities for guests as required.
• Upholding all policies and standards of food hygiene and Health and Safety.
• Providing basic first aid within the complex as required
• Checking in and out guests at the poolside, ensuring all guests have a valid member or Partner card.
• Distribute bands and enforce pool rotation on busy days
• Prepare the enclosure by getting out and putting away the furniture each day.
