Facility Operations * Ensure all hotel facilities, including guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces, are in excellent condition. * Maintain compliance with brand standards for property upkeep and appearance. Safety and Compliance * Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, including fire safety and building codes. * Perform regular safety inspections and maintain records of certifications and inspections. Energy Management * Monitor and manage energy consumption to improve efficiency and reduce costs. * Implement energy-saving initiatives and sustainable practices. Collaboration with Other Departments * Work closely with housekeeping, front desk, and food & beverage teams to address maintenance needs promptly and support guest satisfaction. * Coordinate with external contractors for specialized repairs or large-scale projects. What We Are Looking for in a Hotel Maintenance or Hotel Engineer includes: * High school diploma or equivalent  * Technical Skills * Building Systems Expertise: In-depth knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems, as well as elevators and fire safety equipment. * Preventive Maintenance: Skills in developing and implementing preventive maintenance schedules for long-term efficiency. * Troubleshooting and Repair: Ability to diagnose and repair issues promptly across a variety of hotel systems * Energy Management: Understanding energy-efficient practices and systems to reduce costs and improve sustainability. * Technical Certifications: Certifications like HVAC Technician, Electrician License, or OSHA safety training are preferred. * Customer-Focused Mindset * Guest Sensitivity: Awareness of how maintenance activities can impact guests and taking measures to minimize disruptions.
