Job Opportunity: Casual Hotel Maintenance Technician
Location: The Explorer Hotel – Yellowknife, NT
Are you a skilled maintenance professional looking for flexible work in a dynamic hospitality environment? The Explorer Hotel, a landmark in Yellowknife, is seeking a Casual Maintenance Technician to join our team.
This is a casual role with no guaranteed hours, but you may be scheduled to work up to 40 hours per week to assist with coverage needs. Please note that this position does not include staff housing accommodations at this time.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous experience in maintenance, repair, or a related field is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and general building repairs.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks and challenges.
- Northern maintenance experience is considered a strong bonus.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
- A positive attitude and commitment to providing excellent service.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs to ensure the hotel facilities are safe, functional, and well-maintained.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and general repairs.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment, systems, and common areas to identify and address potential problems.
- Respond to guest and staff maintenance requests promptly and professionally.
- Assist with snow removal, landscaping, and other seasonal tasks as needed.
- Maintain compliance with safety and health regulations.
