Location: Canopy Jersey City Arts District Position: Engineering Enthusiast / Maintenance Technician Reports To: Chief Engineer Pay: $20/hour Summary: Responsible for maintaining hotel equipment and facilities, completing maintenance requests, and ensuring a safe, efficient environment for guests and staff. Key Responsibilities: Respond to guest maintenance requests promptly Perform repairs on electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general equipment Troubleshoot and maintain hotel systems and tools Complete and track work orders using the property management system Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas Monitor safety systems (e.g., fire alarms) and respond to emergencies Assist with inventory, supplies, and preventive maintenance Ensure guest safety, privacy, and satisfaction Support team members and train staff when needed Requirements: Strong problem-solving and organizational skills Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems Professional appearance and attention to detail Education & Experience: High school diploma or technical certification 1–2 years of maintenance or engineering experience
