Hotel Maintenance Technician – Full Time

• Hours: 32–40 per week

The Explorer Hotel, Yellowknife’s premier full-service hotel, is seeking a dedicated Hotel Maintenance Technician to join our team. This hands-on role is essential to maintaining the hotel’s facilities and ensuring a safe, comfortable experience for our guests.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs, including drywall, mudding, taping, and painting
• Assist with plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems (experience in these areas is an asset)
• Respond to guest and staff maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner
• Conduct inspections and preventive maintenance on hotel equipment and building systems
• Ensure exterior areas are safe and well-maintained, including snow removal and walkway clearing
• Lift and transport materials or equipment weighing up to 50 lbs
• Support the maintenance team with various tasks as assigned

Requirements

• Proven experience in drywall, mudding, taping, and painting (required)
• Additional experience in plumbing, electrical, or HVAC is a strong asset
• Ability to work independently and solve problems under pressure
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
• Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts
• Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting, shoveling, and general labor
