The Edmonton Hotel and Convention Centre has an employment opportunity for a full time evenings and weekend Maintenance worker.
We are looking for a dedicated, self-disciplined candidate to join our maintenance team. The successful candidate should have sincere desire to provide excellent customer service to our guests.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum two years of hotel or apartment experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic electrical and plumbing maintenance.
  • Experience with general maintenance tools.
  • Troubleshooting ability with skills in painting, HVAC, and carpentry.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to push, pull, bend, stoop, and reach upward.
  • Ability to tolerate exposure to extreme temperatures and cleaning chemicals.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests and coworkers.

Responsibilities
  • Performs general guest room and public area maintenance and repairs on HVAC, plumbing, and electrical equipment.
  • Provides guest room service/repair status to Front Desk, Maintenance Supervisor, and the Housekeeping supervisor.
  • Performs general carpentry, tiling, painting and wall surface repairs.
  • Checks on all guest room electrical appliances and circuits, including refrigeration controls, television sets, and lighting systems, making repairs where necessary.
  • Responds in a timely, courteous manner to guest questions, complaints, or requests.
  • Properly maintains tools, work spaces, and equipment.
  • Maintain stocks required for maintenance and order parts and supplies
  • Completes preventive maintenance
  • Conduct water tests and maintain water chemistry for the pool and hot tub
  • Maintain hotel grounds including snow removal, lawn moving and lot clean ups
  • Performs other duties as assigned
