The Crown Hotel Bawtry are recruiting for a Hotel Receptionist to join our busy four-star hotel.
The full-time position is working 30-40 hours over 5 days including evening, weekends. The role does involve shift work, typically starting at 6.30am-2.30pm or 2.30pm-10.30pm, these will be allocated on a rota basis. As a receptionist you will provide the first and last impression of the hotel, therefore we are looking for someone who’s welcoming, approachable, and willing to help.

Duties include but not limited to:

  • Greeting guests on arrival and answering any questions effectively.
  • Answering phone calls and dealing with any queries.
  • Efficiently dealing with any in house guest requests.
  • Taking hotel overnight bookings from guests over the telephone, email, online or face to face.
  • Effectively handle customer queries or complaints or problems promptly and to ensure that all resolved and unresolved problems are reported to your head of department
  • Ensure that cash is securely stored and banked in the correct manner and Ensure that all checklists are completed.
  • Liaising with other departments such as Restaurant, Bar, Terrace, housekeeping, and maintenance

· Assisting other departments within the hotel, as the needs of the business dictate
· To ensure your departmental area is safe, hygienic, and presentable at all times.

The ideal candidate would be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Have excellent communication skills, telephone manner and are IT literate
  • A warm and friendly approach when dealing with guests.
  • Self-motivated, flexible hands-on person who can work well within a team with fantastic inter-personal skills.
  • Maintain a professional relationship with guests whilst be open and welcoming.
  • Be able to work under pressure and remain calm and focused.
  • Work together with other team members effectively
  • Have previous hotel/receptionist experience (preferred although not essential as full training will be given)

Pay: £10.00-£12.21 per hour
