Objective of the Role:
Reporting to the Front Office Manager, the Receptionist is the first person that a guest meets on arrival to the Hotel, therefore it is of utmost importance that all staff present a friendly and professional image to our guests at all times.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To greet guests in a warm, friendly manner
  • To check in and out guests efficiently and quickly
  • Answer switchboard and telephone in a friendly, professional manner, dealing with requests and hotel/restaurant reservations
  • To take reservations correctly, noting any special requests
  • To deal with any guest complaints, queries and suggestions quickly and efficiently
  • To handle all departmental floats and safe deposits, maintaining high levels of security
  • Effective communication with other employees to ensure the day to day business runs smoothly
  • General admin duties

Requirements:

  • Previous hotel reception experience will be an advantage
  • Excellent customer care skills
  • Candidate must be highly organised and efficient, with attention to detail
  • Be able to work on your own initiative
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Be able to cope well under pressure
  • Must be fully flexible to work weekdays & weekends, including bank holidays.

Hours:
The successful candidate must be fully flexible to work a range of shifts on a part-time basis.
Shifts normally are 8.00am to 4.00pm, 4.00pm to 11.00pm
Mid shifts can include working from 10/11am to 6/7pm
Shift work will include working weekends and bank holidays
About The Martello:
The Martello is a busy property with 47 bedrooms, The Martello Bar and Tower Bistro Restaurant. The hotel itself boasts a wonderful seafront location with stunning views from the bar and restaurant. The role will involve working with a small team of receptionists to deliver excellent guest service. This is a small but well-known hotel with a mix of international, leisure and corporate guests. The role comes with a competitive salary and would suit an experienced receptionist.
