POSITION SUMMARY:

The Hotel Security Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of all guests, employees, and property within the hotel premises. This role involves regular patrols, monitoring surveillance equipment, responding to incidents, and enforcing hotel policies to maintain a secure environment.​

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.​
  • Valid Ontario Security Guard License.​
  • Certification in First Aid and CPR preferred.​
  • Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or hospitality is an asset.​
  • Strong observational and problem-solving skills.​
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure situations.​
  • Physical fitness to perform patrols and respond to emergencies.​
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.​

Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular patrols of hotel premises, including lobbies, corridors, guest rooms, and external areas, to identify and address potential security risks.​
  • Monitor surveillance systems and alarm systems to detect and respond to unusual activities.​
  • Respond promptly to emergencies, disturbances, or incidents, ensuring appropriate action is taken and situations are de-escalated safely.​
  • Assist guests and staff during emergencies, including administering first aid or CPR if certified.​
  • Document all incidents and activities in detailed reports, maintaining accurate records for future reference.​
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency services when necessary.​
  • Ensure all hotel entrances, exits, and restricted areas are secure.​
  • Provide exceptional customer service, addressing guest inquiries and concerns with professionalism.​
  • Enforce hotel policies and procedures to maintain order and safety.​
  • Other duties as assigned.
