Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

Nottingham Institute of Languages and Intercultural Communication (NILIC) is seeking to appoint a highly motivated and experienced EAP teacher to contribute to the delivery of our summer 2025 Pre-sessional (PEAP) course. Our courses attract a medium-sized cohort affording both teaching colleagues and students the opportunity to thrive and build a rapport with those around them. Successful candidates will work alongside returning and permanent lecturers to deliver in-house content to mainly PG students who are keen to develop both their language and academic skills.
Our 6-week PEAP course will be delivered on our City Campus in the centre of Nottingham.

Main Duties

  • Preparation and delivery of sessions using our in-house materials.
  • Liaison with colleagues to ensure the smooth functioning of the course and a positive student experience.
  • Providing timely and effective feedback.
  • Attendance at the paid induction prior to the start of teaching and at weekly team meetings.
  • Facilitating and marking assessments.

Course dates 2025
14/07/25 to 22/08/25 with staff induction (paid).
Contact hours for both courses are normally 20.5 hours per week. Please ensure you are available for the entire period.
Requirements
Applicants should have the Cambridge ESOL DELTA or an equivalent EFL teaching qualification, plus a first degree, together with substantial teaching experience. You will be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and to teach a language effectively using a variety of appropriate methods. Experience of EAP teaching would be an advantage, as would an MA in TESOL or a related subject.
Applicants must be based in the UK for legal and regulatory reasons.
