What You’ll Do As our Sous Chef, you’ll partner with the Chef to help lead day-to-day kitchen operations while maintaining the quality standards our guests expect. Key Responsibilities Lead daily kitchen operations and service execution in a high-volume environment Supervise, coach, and develop line cooks, prep cooks, and kitchen team members Ensure recipe consistency, proper portioning, presentation standards, and ticket accuracy Assist with inventory management, ordering, receiving, and food cost control Maintain prep production levels and kitchen organization for efficient service Enforce sanitation, food safety, and health department compliance standards Assist with scheduling, labor management, and productivity oversight Support menu development, feature items, and recipe execution Step into the kitchen leadership responsibilities in the Chef’s absence Foster a positive, accountable, team-focused kitchen culture What We’re Looking For 2+ years of kitchen leadership experience (Sous Chef, Kitchen Manager, Lead Line Cook, or similar) Strong leadership presence with the ability to motivate and hold a team accountable Experience in high-volume, scratch kitchen environments preferred Strong organizational and multitasking skills Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen systems Ability to stay calm, focused, and solutions-oriented under pressure Weekend availability is required Nights and holiday availability expected Ability to stand for extended periods and lift to 50 lbs Compensation & Perks Starting at $20+/hour based on experience Growth opportunities with an expanding culinary team Employee dining discounts Supportive team culture Opportunity to contribute creatively to specials and menu ideas Fast-paced, energetic environment with leadership growth potential Why Hearth Pizza Tavern?
