Equal Partnerships are looking for a

HOUSE MANAGER TO WORK IN NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE (NE3)

An exciting opportunity to manage the support of one person (male) with learning disabilities to live in their own home and support them to continue having a fulfilling life whilst effectively leading a well established small team of staff. This is a permanent 32 hour per week post (plus cover) based in Kenton, Newcastle.
Equal Partnerships are a limited company that has been set up by two people who have many years’ experience working for people who have a learning disability. We believe that, all people who have a learning disability should have the life they want to have and that everyone is born within his or her own society, and everyone has the absolute right to play a full role in his or her society and local community. Staff are well supported as well as the people receiving support and we pride ourselves in investing in our staff.
We want you to have a hands-on role demonstrating flexibility with shifts, managing rotas around the needs of the person we support including getting out and about, using public transport, leisure opportunities, discos, theatre trips, holidays and more. The role involves weekend, evening and bank holiday working.
You will need to be proactive, enthusiastic, show initiative and be willing to learn. We are looking for a good leader who is flexible, has a good sense of humour, a kind heart and a friendly approach.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

· Person centred focus
· Excellent organisation skills
· Excellent record keeping skills
· Effective communication
· Work effectively with families and healthcare professionals
· Effective advocate for people we support
· Ability to follow and work to individual support plans
· Level 3 qualification in health and social care desirable but not essential.
