About the role This position is responsible for ensuring our housebound residents in the Parramatta City Council area receive quality library services tailored to their needs. It involves resource selection, customer eligibility assessment, and ongoing service delivery and improvement. Responsibilities also include community engagement, staff supervision, and compliance with Council policies. On a daily basis you will: Evaluate and select appropriate resources for collection development and to satisfy individual customer needs. Interviewing prospective customers to determine eligibility and individual requirements. Creating and maintaining an accurate database of patron profiles. Monitoring effectiveness of service, Monitoring customer satisfaction and expectations. Market and promote the resources and services to the community. Develop appropriate new services. Supervision and training of staff as required. Develop and implement relevant policies. Collection and maintenance of relevant statistics. Design and maintenance of visiting/round schedules. About You The successful candidate will have a recognised TAFE Certificate or extensive relevant experience. You will also bring: Current drivers licence (1B Licence would be an advantage). Current First Aid certificate Current WWCC Relevant public library experience of Outreach programs . Current awareness and networking with other Housebound services and referral as appropriate to other community organisations. Experience in programs for older people and/or people with disabilities. Previous experience working in a busy branch library environment Experience showcasing leadership in the workplace.
