PART TIME EMPLOYEE: Less than 29 hours/week Free Membership to the YMCA Discounted Y Programs Monday - Friday 7:00pm - 12:00am The Housekeeper will perform routine cleaning as required to provide a clean and safe facility.   Responsible for ensuring effective physical cleanliness of all assigned areas. The incumbent will be a representative of the YMCA who accepts and demonstrates our core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. QUALIFICATIONS:  * High School Diploma or GED; required * At least 18 years of age; required. * 6 months or more of related work experience preferred. * Ability to lift 25 pounds, climb ladders and to work on your feet for multiple hours at a time. * Working knowledge of modern cleaning methods, materials, tools and equipment. * Understanding safe and efficient use of cleaning compounds and chemicals. * CPR, First Aid and AED certifications required within 30 days of employment. * Works effectively with people of different backgrounds, abilities, opinions and perceptions. ESSENTIAL FUNTIONS: 1. Ensure the Y is attractive and clean by completing all duties listed on the daily schedule and maintains upkeep of assigned areas and equipment.   2. May perform wet and dust mopping, dusting, trash removal, recycling, window washing, painting, vacuuming and general cleaning. 3. Ensure proper supply levels of toilet tissue, paper towels, soap and other services are provided. 4. Ability to work with cleaning equipment, chemical compounds, solvents, cleaners, paint and solutions in dry, liquid, powder, spray and aerosol forms. 5. Ability to complete work assignments with minimal supervision. 6. Report items needing repair to Head Housekeeper. 7. Maintain a professional appearance and manner reflective of Y standards. 8. Attend regular training and staff meetings as required. 9. Perform other duties as assigned.  WORKING ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Sufficient strength, agility and mobility to perform essential functions of this job are representative of those that must be met by an employee. Ability to perform all physical aspects of the position; including walking, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 25 pounds. Must have the ability to work with cleaning equipment, chemical compounds, solvents, cleaners, paint and solutions in dry, liquid, powder, spray and aerosol forms. Must be able to respond to emergency situations.
