JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Housekeeper to join our team in the Elk Valley. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and order in client homes. This role requires a strong commitment to customer service and an eye for detail, as well as the ability to manage time effectively while performing various cleaning tasks.
This opportunity is currently 20 hours per week with the possibility of more hours for the right candidate.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Training and Experience - Six (6) months recent related experience. Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. A valid BC license is essential. Having access to a safe, reliable vehicle is a must as this position requires travel within our service area. Mileage reimbursement is provided.

Responsibilities
  1. Cleans, washes and disinfects building areas such as walls, windows, shelves, floors, carpets, furniture, blinds and washrooms by methods such as dusting, polishing, vacuuming, sweeping, wet mopping, using various manual and power cleaning equipment. Cleans, dusts and wipes down various appliances, furniture and accessories.
  2. Washes dishes and loads and unloads dishwasher.
  3. Changes and makes beds when necessary.
  4. Launders clothes and linens when necessary.
  5. Collects and removes garbage and recyclable materials and ensures the safe disposal of hazardous waste and maintains clean refuse areas and performs spot clean-ups as required.
  6. Remove snow from house to car door (not including the driveway) and sprinkles salt on this surface when necessary.
  7. Identify and report possible repairs and insect and rodent issues to Coordinator and homeowner. Change light bulbs and provide minor repairs such as changing a battery or tightening a cupboard doorknob.
  8. Performs other related duties as required.
