Description Environmental Services Technician We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Environmental Services Technician to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic environment for patients, staff, and visitors. Your commitment to cleanliness and safety will directly contribute to the overall quality of care and infection control within our facility. Key Responsibilities: - Wear gloves at all times when cleaning a room, regardless of contact with blood or body fluids. - Perform daily cleaning of floors, bathrooms, and patient contact areas to ensure a hygienic environment. - Clean blood spills using approved disinfectants and disposable cloths or rags, ensuring proper disposal of contaminated materials in laundry bags. - Use gowns, masks, and gloves when working with biohazardous materials or infectious diseases to prevent contamination. - Change mop water and clean mops after completing cleaning in each room to prevent cross-contamination. - Follow instructions provided for cleaning rooms after patient use, ensuring thorough sanitation. - Properly dispose of biohazard waste in designated red bags, adhering to safety protocols and regulations. - Maintain awareness of infection control procedures and report any safety concerns or hazards. Skills and Qualifications: - High school diploma or equivalent. - Previous experience in environmental services, housekeeping, or healthcare sanitation preferred. - Knowledge of infection control practices and biohazard waste handling. - Ability to follow detailed cleaning protocols and safety procedures. - Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Good communication skills and a professional attitude. - Physical ability to perform cleaning tasks, including standing, bending, and lifting.
