AM Shift form 7:30 am to 4 pm (Sunday - Wednesday). $17.50 - $18 pay range POSITION SUMMARY: The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, safe and comfortable environment for residents, staff and visitors. This position ensures that residents rooms, common areas and assigned workspaces meet established cleanliness and infection control standards while demonstrating respect and compassion towards seniors. RESPONSIBILITIES: · Clean and sanitize residents’ rooms, including bathrooms, kitchenettes, break rooms, dining room and living areas · Clean common areas such as hallways, lounges, dining rooms, offices and restrooms · Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust and polish surfaces · Remove trash and recycling from resident rooms and common areas · Replenish supplies (toilet paper, paper towels, soap, etc.) · Follow infection control and safety procedures · Handle cleaning chemicals safely according to manufacturer guidelines · Report maintenance or safety concerns promptly · Respond to resident requests in a courteous and timely manner · Maintain confidentiality and respect of residents’ privacy · Use SafeT-team protocols and other “best safe practices” when filling or using cleaners, detergents and other chemicals to include use of goggles and gloves · Completes room “changeovers” before and after resident moves · Perform other duties assigned Additional responsibilities: · Assist with laundry services as needed · Support special cleaning projects Requirements QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent preferred Previous housekeeping experience preferred (healthcare or senior living experience, a plus) Ability to follow written and verbal instructions Strong attention to detail Ability to work independently and part as a team Compassionate and respectful attitude towards seniors PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS · Ability to stand and walk for up to 8 hours per shift · Frequent bending, kneeling, stooping and reaching · Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds regularly · Ability to push/pull carts weighing up to 50 pounds · Manual dexterity to operate cleaning tools and equipment · Ability to tolerate exposure to cleaning chemicals and odors WORK ENVIRONMENT · Senior living community setting · Exposure to cleaning chemicals and bodily fluids · May require weekend and holiday shifts
