Description:
To provide a clean and safe environment at The Salvation Army Ches Penney Centre of Hope.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Cleans, sanitizes, sweeps, dusts, mops, washes, vacuum floors
- Cleans and stocks washroom facilities
- Cleans and sanitizes offices, classrooms, and main areas of the building
- Empties garbage
- Spot cleans carpets and performs general carpet cleaning, as required
- Organizes and maintains janitorial supplies in janitorial room(s) and on janitorial carts
- Follows established procedures and documentation for inventory tracking
- Informs Director of Operations of general repairs and maintenance items required
- Works independently or cooperatively with team members to complete tasks on schedule and according to quality standards
- Performs laundry of mop, cleaning cloths, aprons
- Complies with all prescribed sanitation and building disinfecting protocols
- Required to show courtesy to clients and all those on the property of The Salvation Army Ches Penney Centre of Hope
- Performs other related duties as assigned
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1-3 years recent housekeeping/cleaning experience preferably with an organization that works with the marginalized population
- Current WHMIS training or be willing to take the training upon hire
- Non-skid CSA approved safety shoes required
