Position Reports To: Housekeeping Supervisor Essential Functions Cleaning and disinfection of surfaces including floors, equipment and furniture. Cleaning and disinfection of restroom surfaces including toilets, showers, urinals, sinks and other fixtures. Cleaning and disinfection of sterile physical environments. Removal of trash, soiled linen, regulated medical waste, hazardous waste and waste containing confidential information. Bed making, linen handling, dusting, window cleaning, wall washing and spot removal. Floor maintenance and refinishing. Reporting of furniture, finishes and equipment needing repair or replacement. Participate in the training of new employees. Project cleaning and other duties as assigned by supervisor. Other duties as assigned. Demonstrate Standards of Behavior and adhere to the Code of Conduct in all aspects of job performance at all times. Qualifications Required: Ability to read, understand and communicate in English sufficient to perform the duties of the position. Must relate effectively with co-workers, physicians, staff, patients and the general public and function as part of a team. Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision. Must be able to reason and think logically to solve problems. Must be able to use judgment and make decisions. Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality of all patient information. Must be able to function in a fast-paced environment with deadlines. Desired: High School Diploma or equivalent (GED). One year institutional housekeeping experience.
