Day Kimball Health is hiring for a full-time Housekeeper to join our Environmental Services department on 2nd shift in Putnam, CT! Moves furniture, equipment, and supplies, in and around hospital departments, and performs a variety of environmental services duties to maintain the hospital in a neat, orderly, and sanitary condition. Housekeeper II Job Responsibilities: * Project work on floors using automatic floor equipment. * Total patient room cleaning following established procedures. * Moves equipment and furniture for relocation of offices, for cleaning and rearrangement. * Trash removal and recycling. May collect hazardous/medical waste. * Clean entrances and parking lot of debris and trash. * Provides on-call coverage for weekends and holidays as scheduled. * Responds to emergency codes. Housekeeper II Education and Experience Requirements: * High School Diploma or GED preferred. * Prior experience performing cleaning operations in a hospital, industrial or office setting, with minimum three months training preferred. Housekeeper II Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: * Ability to operate cleaning devices, i.e., automatic floor equipment, buffers, commercial vacuums, mops and wringers, and other necessary tools, products and supplies. * Ability to read, write, speak and understand English sufficiently to perform the duties of this position.
