This position involves working closely with seniors in a residential care setting, ensuring their living spaces are well-kept, comfortable, and attended to with care and respect. Strong communication skills, reliability, and a compassionate attitude are essential.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Prior experience in residential or facility-based cleaning, preferably in a retirement or healthcare setting.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly in English; knowledge of French or other languages is an asset.
  • A positive, resident-focused attitude with a commitment to quality service.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Physical ability to perform cleaning tasks, including standing, bending, and lifting moderate weights.
  • A genuine interest in supporting the well-being of seniors in a respectful and dignified manner.

Responsibilities
  • Perform thorough daily and scheduled cleaning of residents’ rooms, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, sanitizing surfaces, and emptying trash.
  • Launder residents’ personal clothing, towels, and linens, ensuring items are returned neatly folded or hung and in a timely manner.
  • Clean and maintain common areas of the facility, contributing to a warm and hygienic atmosphere for all residents and guests.
  • Promptly address and clean spills or messes to ensure the safety and cleanliness of the environment.
  • Organize and declutter areas as needed to support an orderly and functional living space.
  • Communicate respectfully and effectively with residents to understand their individual preferences and needs.
  • Manage time efficiently to complete cleaning tasks according to schedule.
  • Follow all safety and infection control protocols while using cleaning products and equipment.
  • Demonstrate hospitality and a caring attitude toward residents, contributing to a positive living experience.
