Check out our website: www.cancercareyork.com JOB SUMMARY: The Housekeeper plays a critical role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff within the cancer center. This position is responsible for daily cleaning, sanitization, waste disposal, and supply stocking in accordance with healthcare standards, infection control guidelines, and organizational policies. The Housekeeper supports clinical operations by ensuring infusion suites, patient areas, and common spaces are consistently clean, sanitized, and properly stocked. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS – JOB DUTIES: The following duties are considered essential to the job. Qualified individuals must have the ability – with or without reasonable accommodation – to perform the following duties: Cleans and sanitizes all restrooms, including wiping down all bathroom surfaces and restocking supplies daily. Stocks and maintain restroom supplies to ensure availability for patients, visitors, and staff. Assists with transporting lunches provided by pharmaceutical representatives, sets up the lunches, and cleans up the kitchen after lunch. Sanitizes and cleans high-touch surfaces throughout all suites and common areas. Responds promptly to clean non-hazardous spills and related issues. Cleans break rooms by wiping down all surfaces, tables, and chairs. Performs daily trash disposal for both hazardous and non-hazardous waste in designated areas, following proper procedures. Maintains regular, reliable, and punctual attendance. Complies with all practice policies and procedures, including CCAY’s Code of Conduct and infection control standards. Requirements Specific Education, Certification, and Licensure High school diploma or equivalent Job-Related Experience: Previous housekeeping or environmental services experience in a healthcare setting preferred but not required. Job-Related Skills: Ability to follow detailed cleaning and sanitization protocols. Ability to perform duties in a fast paced, demanding environment. Ability to stand, bend, and stretch in order to perform job duties. Ability to multi-task & prioritize responsibilities. Ability to work well independently and in a team environment. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to maintain professionalism in a healthcare environment.
