Description POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for maintaining the general appearance and cleanliness of the facility, keeping it at an acceptable level by following the Environmental Services Policies and Procedures, as outlined in the departmental Policy and Procedures manual. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: General cleaning of the facility including but not limited to: dusting, mopping, trash disposal, wiping down of walls, fixtures, equipment and furniture, making beds, window washing, disinfecting, clean/soiled linen distribution, and refilling soap/paper goods dispensers. Operates mechanical floor cleaners, polishers, and vacuums. Executes work under the direction of Environmental Services Manager and as needed by organization's staff. Participates in the on-call rotation with other employees of the Environmental Services Department, responding to emergency and/or disaster calls within 30 minutes during off-duty hours. Takes direction from Nursing Services when responding to emergency situations. Flexible and able to respond appropriately to multiple interruptions and stressful situations. Keeps housekeeping supply storage areas in clean and orderly condition. Applies adequate safeguards in the use and storage of equipment and supplies for the protection of employees, patients and visitors. Maintains equipment in safe condition. Accepts housekeeping duties in all assigned areas of the facility in accordance with the housekeeping schedule, department policies and procedures, supervisory directives and specific needs that arise periodically. Maintains awareness and practice of good infection control techniques including isolation and isolations room protocols; reports possible infection control problems to supervisor or Infection Control Coordinator. Participates regularly in continuing education programs and department in-services. Attends department meetings. Maintains and applies knowledge of hospital-wide housekeeping standards, techniques, universal precautions, policies and procedures. Knows and adheres to general hospital/departmental policies and procedures including safety, Human Resources, disaster plan, confidentiality and infection control. Performs other job related duties as directed by supervisor or leadership. Requirements Shift - 12:30pm to 9pm After hours on-call & weekend shift in rotation with other staff
