ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Responsible for the cleanliness of the building, equipment, and grounds of the facility. Maintain the cleanliness of the building, utilizing custodial tools and cleaning products, according to schedule. Acquire knowledge of cleaning chemicals their uses and hazards. Understand SDS. Understand the proper operations of auto scrubbers and other custodial tools. Understand building activities and Facilities support of these functions. Assist in preparations for special events and programs. May be asked to receive deliveries. May be assigned to off-site properties in support of the organization’s mission. Repair and maintain equipment as needed based on skillset Requirements SKILLS & COMPETENCIES: Friendly positive attitude and some customer service skills. Temperament and tolerance for a job that seems never done. Attention to detail to ensure cleanliness of building. Ability to work alone or with others in support of the team. KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: High school graduate or GED equivalency preferred. Additional education in technical or vocational school would be beneficial. Knowledge of industrial cleaning supplies, tools, machines, and equipment. EXPERIENCE: Prior employment as a custodian, janitor, or maintenance person is desired. WORK SCEHDULE: Full time with benefits at 40 hours per week Variable as assigned. May include days, nights and weekends.
