POSITION SUMMARY: The Housekeeping Assistant provides cleaning services to maintain a safe, sanitary, comfortable, and homelike environment for residents, staff, and visitors. This role supports infection control, survey readiness, and quality of life for residents. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: * Clean resident rooms, bathrooms, and common areas daily per facility standards. * Perform terminal cleaning of resident rooms as needed. * Clean windows, walls, ceilings, floors, and furniture according to schedules. * Handle and dispose of waste, including biohazardous waste, per facility procedures. * Monitor for pests and report concerns to supervisor. * Assist with emergency cleaning tasks and survey preparation. SKILLS & COMPETENCIES * Knowledge of infection control and housekeeping standards. * Ability to safely operate cleaning equipment and chemicals. * Strong organizational and prioritization skills. * Respect for resident dignity and privacy. REQUIRED: * Functional literacy and ability to follow instructions. PREFERRED: * Prior housekeeping experience in healthcare or hospitality. PHYSICAL & WORK REQUIREMENTS * Standing/walking for most of shift; frequent bending and lifting (5--40 lbs). * Ability to push housekeeping carts (up to 300 lbs with assistance). * Exposure to odors, chemicals, and wet/humid conditions.
