Cowper Care is seeking applications for the role of Housekeeping/Laundry/Kitchen Assistant for Glebe House Nursing Home, Kilternan Dublin 18.

Responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE

To provide high quality housekeeping, laundry and kitchen services for the residents and staff of the Nursing Home.
Garda Vetting / Police Clearance will be required for the successful applicant.
Applicants must submit a CV outlining all relevant experience/training to date.
This is a Full-time position – 39 hours per week.

HOUSEKEEPING DUTIES:

  • Detail washing/dusting – including all low and high reach areas including fixtures, fittings, walls and vents throughout the building and exterior.
  • Floor Maintenance - including sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, scrubbing, polishing, and buffing throughout the building.
  • Bathrooms and wash facilities: - including toilets, hand basins, shower rooms, baths, tiles, sluice facilities and commodes.
  • Waste Removal – including waste from bedrooms, offices, general areas of the building both interior and exterior if necessary.

LAUNDRY DUTIES:

  • To work as part of a team to maintain a high standard of cleanliness of linen, towels and our residents’ personal clothing.
  • Sort washing into relevant groups, where applicable, and process it through the washer, drier and iron.
  • Keep clean and dirty linen separate within the laundry area. Manage name tag system for all residents clothing.KITCHEN DUTIES:
  • Carry out assigned and delegated tasks under the supervision of the Chef/ Service Manager
  • Assist in the operation of standard cooking equipment such as oven/hobs, boilers, steamers, toasters, choppers etc.
  • Wash up with or without the aid of a dishwasher
    Comply with all policies and procedures relevant to the job role including those that incorporate health and safety, HACCP, infection control and waste
